New Zealand vs India 2020: Neil Wagner Set To Return To Action In The Second Test

Star New Zealand seamer Neil Wagner is all set to return to action for the second and the final Test against India at the Hegley Oval in Christchurch. Meanwhile, this will add more miseries to Virat Kohli & Co, who are 0-1 down in the series and are facing a potential whitewash after 0-3 loss in the ODIs.

Wagner missed the first Test as his wife was expecting the birth of their first child. This gave Kyle Jamieson make his Test debut and impress right in the first hour removing stalwarts like Cheteshwar Pujara and India skipper Virat Kohli. With Neil Wagner returning to the set-up, the Kiwis will face the problem of plenty in their bowling unit.

Notably, Wagner has been spectacular in recent times with the ball. Despite New Zealand going down in Australia Tests, Wagner stood out with his fearless bowling and has been a strike bowler for the Black Caps in the last few years. Head coach Gary Stead confirmed the return of Neil Wagner alongside admitting that they are happy to face the problem of plenty.

"Yeah, that’s always good selection dilemmas to have,” Stead said to the reporters on Tuesday. Neil Wagner will come back and he’s been a force in our team for a long time, and obviously Kyle Jamieson made the most of his debut, and the way he played, I thought, was outstanding as well, did a really good job for us,” he added.

Furthermore, Gary Stead also hinted at a four-man pace attack in the pace-friendly Christchurch wicket. India will have their task cut out when the Test match starts from February 28 (Friday).
