The Chennai Super Kings have by far been the most successful side in IPL history. Under the inspired leadership of MS Dhoni, the CSK franchise has won 3 IPL titles. The most prominent name associated with CSK has always been of Dhoni. With Dhoni retiring from international cricket last month many have assumed for how long he will continue to play IPL and lead CSK.

According to veteran CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, Dhoni already has the name of future CSK captain in the back of his mind. ‘Thala’ Dhoni may play for few more seasons for CSK before he decides to bid goodbye to his beloved franchise. The 39-year-old has always kept his cards close to his chest. As a result, he might not just yet reveal who might captain CSK in the coming years.

“I know it’s been in the back of his mind for some time, I mean all of us have to step aside at some point of time. It’s just the matter of when… when to step aside and hand it over to whether it’s a Raina or someone younger”, said Bravo to ABP News.

Meanwhile, Bravo who recently became to the first bowler to scalp 500 T20 wickets, is once again charged to play for CSK in IPL 2020. Bravo also affirmed that once again this year CSK consists of a balanced squad that will not feel pressure under the captaincy of Dhoni. He also added that players, management, owners and Dhoni are the reasons why it is such a thriving side in the IPL.

“We have a very talented squad, full of experience and also we have a management staff, that is very relaxed and balanced and also the owners. All these things come together and play a part”, Bravo added.

“We don’t have any outside pressure from the owners or the management. We don’t feel under pressure with MS Dhoni as captain. I think CSK has one of the most loyal fans whether we play in Mumbai, Delhi or Bangalore you see a lot of yellow shirts in the stands. We enjoy each other’s success, so these are the main reasons behind the success of CSK”, Bravo concluded.

Furthermore, Chennai Super Kings is all set to play the opening match against defending champion Mumbai Indians on September 19. The two most successful IPL side and last year finalists will play at Abu Dhabi in the season opener.
