The star player for New Zealand in the Test series between India and New Zealand, Will Young, was taken aback by his team’s 3-0 victory. Young and many others were shocked by the Kiwis’ dominance in the series, even though they were the underdogs.

The reversal is arguably the more impressive considering that New Zealand’s 0-2 setback against Sri Lanka was followed by this victory. The success of the team was largely due to Tom Latham’s strategic choices and leadership.

The 3-0 victory demonstrates New Zealand’s versatility and tenacity. Important victories were secured thanks in large part to Young’s outstanding batting efforts. New Zealand’s confidence has been boosted by the series win, and they intend to maintain this momentum in upcoming Test matches.

The team will concentrate on maintaining their excellent form and leaving a lasting impression in international cricket as they celebrate their unexpected victory.

“There were some incredible performances”- Will Young

No one in the team even imagined winning 3-0 away from home against India, according to Will Young, the player of the series in the just finished India vs. New Zealand Test series. After losing to Sri Lanka 0-2, New Zealand traveled to India.

“Having won the series 3-0 is something that none of us even dreamed of, to be honest. It’s just…it’s just incredible!” Will Young told Cricbuzz after the series.

“I remember in Pune, we obviously had the hour-long bus journey back to the hotel, so we had the speaker going with the songs and everyone was singing along, which was fun,” Young said.

“It did feel funny because there were some incredible performances from both teams throughout the series. Hundreds scored on both sides, big wicket bags and some superstar names,” he further added.

New Zealand is now a serious contender for a position in the World Test Championship final after their historic victory. After winning the championship’s first edition, the team is now anticipating a three-game series at home against England.
