The ongoing mid-season transfer which kicked-off yesterday has garnered a lot of reactions among the fans. Many are keen to see if Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are keen to trade any player during this window in the wake of their dismal run in the ongoing IPL 2020. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed the on the development.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super King are missing the service of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh. Although they have managed the absence of the off-spinner, Raina’s absence has made a massive impact as Chennai have not looked like usual.

They have managed to win only three games so far from eight matches including their yesterday’s win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. More so, with Shane Watson inconsistent run, the side has looked unsettled. Amid all these, there were rumours that Chennai Super Kings might opt for Chris Lynn in the mid-season transfers.

CSK not interested in mid-season transfer

Incidentally, the Australian opener has warmed the benches so far in the Mumbai Indians camp. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock have delivered the goods and as it looks, Lynn will have to sit in the sidelines for the rest of the season.

Despite all these discussions, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has revealed that the franchise is not interested in any player. He believes that the current squad is potent and the team management will never think about trading a player in the middle of the league.

“CSK have never bought or released players in the mid-season transfer window and we have honestly not even gone through the rules and regulations that come into play if we are looking at a transfer. We are not looking at any player.” Viswanathan said as quoted by Times of India.

Imran Tahir will come into picture

Adding further, Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir will come into the picture in the coming games. Tahir, who finished as the Purple Cap winner in the last season, is yet to get some game time. Skipper MS Dhoni said that they are keen to play Tahir but he is missing out on the basis of team combinations.

“He will definitely come into the picture as we go ahead. Right now, with the conditions on offer, the team composition has been planned with two foreigners at the top as pure batsmen and then two pace bowling all-rounders. But, he [Tahir] will come in with the wickets starting to take turn in the second half.” he concluded.
