NPL 2024: Janakpur Bolts To Kick Off The Tournament Against Biratnagar Kings

The Nepal Premier League (NPL) is set to begin on November 30, with an exciting opener between Janakpur Bolts and Biratnagar Kings. The tournament schedule, released by the organizers through official social media on Monday, outlines the competition’s framework.

Eight franchise teams, including Kathmandu Gurkhaz, Chitwan Rhinos, Pokhara Avengers, Karnali Yaks, Lumbini Lions, and Sudurpaschim Royals, will compete for the title. The NPL matches will be broadcast live on Star Sports, providing fans across the globe an opportunity to witness Nepalese cricket in action.

The top four teams will progress to the playoffs, starting with the Eliminator and Qualifier 1 on December 18. The Qualifier 2 is scheduled for December 19, while the final match will be held on December 21. International cricket stars like Shikhar Dhawan, Martin Guptill, James Neesham, and Ben Cutting are among the marquee players, adding to the excitement of this debut tournament.

Schedule Highlights and Match Timings

The inaugural match will begin at 12:15 AM, while matches on subsequent days are scheduled at 9:15 AM and 1:15 PM. No games are planned for December 1 due to the by-election, but starting December 2, two matches will be played daily.

The playoffs are slated to commence on December 18, culminating in the much-anticipated final on December 21. The structured schedule ensures a balance between action-packed matches and adequate rest for players, promising a smooth tournament flow.
