Indian all-rounder and Rajasthan Royals (RR) star Riyan Parag received his Bachelor of Arts degree during the convocation ceremony at Cotton University on Wednesday, March 5. The 23-year-old completed a specialized undergraduate program designed for athletes in Guwahati, Assam.

Riyan Parag enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) last year. The explosive batter emerged as Rajasthan Royals’ top run-scorer in the 2024 edition, accumulating 573 runs in 14 innings at an impressive average of 52.09 and a strike rate of 149.21.

Rajasthan secured a playoff spot after finishing third in the points table but saw their campaign end with a heartbreaking 36-run loss to SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 2.

Following his stellar IPL 2024 performance, Parag made his T20I debut for India in July during the five-match away series against Zimbabwe. He later earned his maiden ODI cap in August during India’s tour of Sri Lanka.

Riyan Parag returned to action in Ranji Trophy 2024-25 after an injury

Riyan Parag suffered a shoulder injury in October last year, ruling him out after India’s T20I series against Bangladesh. He returned to competitive cricket in the seventh round of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25, leading Assam against Saurashtra, where he scored 51 and 0 and took two wickets. Saurashtra won by an innings and 144 runs.

Parag is set to feature in IPL 2025, having been retained by Rajasthan Royals for ₹14 crore. RR also retained Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shimron Hetmyer, and Sandeep Sharma. Led by Samson, RR will kick off their campaign against SunRisers Hyderabad on March 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
