Australian speedster Pat Cummins had a memorable test match in Adelaide as he played his part in helping Australia win the first test in Adelaide. He took four wickets in the second innings as India declared on 36 for 9 in a forgetful batting collapse. He took a total of seven wickets in the game as his team completed a comfortable victory. He spoke to Channel Seven after the game, recollecting the day’s play.

Speaking to Channel Seven, Cummins said that it was a day when everything fell into place from the Australian pacers. Whatever, they tried, worked on the given conditions on the third morning of the test match.

“It was just one of those days where everything came off, everything we tried worked,” said the top-ranked test bowler. We found in the first innings there was actually a lot of bounce, so to hit the stumps it almost felt like it had to be a half volley.”

“But when we got into our work we were able to get up there a bit fuller, make the batters make decisions, make it harder to leave the ball and fortunately it all came off today,” he further added.

Expected India to Score 200 in 2nd Innings: Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins further said that they expected to stop the Indians by 200 in the second innings but the way things panned out in the first hour was unexpected.

“We thought if we could get them out for 200 today, have a bit of a bat, we’d stay in the game,” Cummins said after claiming 4-21 to go with his three first innings wickets. “But for that to happen in the first hour, amazing” said Cummins.

The loss will one to digest for Virat Kohli and his men who are the defending champions of the Border-Gavaskar trophy. The Indian skipper is all set to return home after the first test as India will be led by Ajinkya Rahane in the next three tests. The Indian thinktank have been sweating over finding the ideal replacement for Kohli in the last three tests.
