In the Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore encounter, we saw RCB moving on from their wicket-keeper of two games Joshua Phillipe. It was the South African Legend AB de Villiers who was slotted as a wicketkeeper for the RCB franchise.

As it’s been quite a while that cricket pundits have been wanting the former Proteas skipper as the wicketkeeper for the side. de Villiers hasn’t been very reluctant on taking the keeping duties owing to his back injuries in the past.

Well, AB de Villiers did prove what kind of a player he is as he went out to notch a 24 ball fifty to help RCB pass the 200 mark. He also played a huge part in RCB winning the super over, as he pulled a short delivery Jasprit Bumrah for a boundary.

AB de Villiers’ all-round display on the field was praised by many as his knock turned out to be the talking point of yesterday’s game. Even his teammate Washington Sundar who bowled a sensational spell in the powerplay is in nothing but all praise for the player from South Africa.

Washington Sundar said that AB de Villiers does everything the team requires him to do. He’s one man who is always happy to contribute to the team in whichever department as he’s been doing it since years for the side.

“Tell me one thing that he cannot do, whatever the team needs him to do he will do, he will be more than happy to do and he has been doing that for so many years for RCB,” Sundar said.

He further spoke how de Villiers keeping for the RCB side improves their team balance. Also with him behind the stumps, he instils confidence in the bowlers by helping and guiding them with his experience.

“It adds a lot of balance and he behind the wickets also gives bowlers a lot of thought process and he adds a lot of value to the team,” he added.
