Oshane Thomas Hospitalised After Serious Car Accident

West Indies fast bowler Oshane Thomas suffered a serious car accident along Highway 2000 in St Catherine, Jamaica. According to reports, his car turned over after collision and the cricketer is currently recovering from the injuries. 

The tall fast bowler from the Caribbeans was conscious and responsive after the crash and was immediately transported to the hospital. Oshane Thomas isn't part of the West Indies squad for the ODI series in Sri Lanka. If not picked in the T20I squad, his next assignment will be the Indian Premier League, where he'll play for Rajasthan Royals.

Soon after the news broke out, West Indies Player's Association extended their best wishes to the ailing Thomas. They also wished a speedy recovery of the cricketer so that he can return to the field quickly.

"WIPA extends best wishes to West Indies and Jamaica fast-bowler Oshane Thomas who was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, February 16 in Jamaica," the West Indies Players' Association said in a statement.

"Thomas was reportedly involved in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 2000 near Old Harbour in St. Catherine and was taken to hospital. WIPA's executive and staff would like to extend our sympathies to Oshane. We wish for him a speedy and full recovery," it added. 

Oshane Thomas has represented West Indies in 20 ODIs and 10 T20Is scalping 36 wickets in total. He will look to return to action soon and Rajasthan Royals will be following his recovery with keen interest after losing Jofra Archer owing to an injury. The upcoming edition of the IPL will commence from March 29 and Rajasthan will begin their campaign from April 2.
