Pakistan players are unhappy with Hafeez

Pakistan are currently trailing the 5-match T20I series against New Zealand by 0-2. The third T20I match will be played at Dunedin on 17th January 2024. Since the arrival of Mohammed Hafeez as director of Pakistan cricket, they suffered a whitewash against Australia by 0-3.

Pakistan lost the first match against New Zealand by 46 runs at Eden Park, Auckland. They then lost by 21 runs in 2nd match at Seddon Park, Hamilton. After Pakistan lost the 2nd test match at Melbourne by 79 runs, Aamer Jamal came as another positive. He made an excuse that because of technology, Pakistan lost the match. Saim Ayub made his Test debut in the 3rd match at Sydney but lost that match also by 7 wickets.

“He holds very long meetings and gives long lectures and some of the players get restless because the same things are repeated,” one media report said.

Pakistan will look to win the 3rd T20I match staying alive in the series. Babar Azam has been the positive in the first two matches with successive half-centuries.

Hafeez making tough decisions

Since Mohammed Hafeez has taken over the duty of director of the Pakistan Cricket Team, he has made tough decisions. He introduced rupees of 500 dollars if they were caught sleeping in the room. He decided to drop Imam UL Haq and give a chance to Saim Ayub in the 3rd Test match at Sydney Cricket Stadium, SCG.

Babar Azam opened the innings along with Mohammed Rizwan. He decided to demote Babar Azam to number 3 and has done a great job so far with 2 back to back half-centuries. Hafeez tried a new combination of Saim Ayub and Mohammed Rizwan in the 2nd T20I matches so far.

Pakistan would look to come back with a strong performance in the 3rd T20I match. They have made 3 changes as Zaman Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, and Mohammed Wasim Junior have been included in the playing XI for tomorrow’s match.

Shaheen Shah Afridi has been appointed new T20I captain after Babar Azam was released from the captaincy job.
