Citing such bizarre claims, some Pakistani TV cricket analysts have alleged that 22 priests or pandits were inducted by India to perform black magic, or “jaadu tona,” for ensuring Pakistan’s loss in the Champions Trophy 2025 recent league game.
The concoction follows Pakistan’s bad defeat by India at the Dubai stadium on February 23. It seems their fans and Pakistani media are having trouble accepting the team’s defeat-free loss.
The supporters of the Pakistani team, including some sections of the media, seem to be grasping at whatever straws they can find to explain the loss. Instead of admitting India’s superior performance, they settle for absurd conspiracy theories.
Such an attitude dims the Indian team’s achievement and puts a black mark on the sportsmanship of Pakistan. It is necessary for fans and analysts to have an open mind to accept defeat and focus on productive criticism, which will eventually help the team.

In a Pakistani TV talk show, shocking allegations have raised eyebrows that India used the services of 22 Hindu priests for “black magic” at Dubai International Stadium to hamper the concentration of the Pakistan players.
One of the panelists went as far as saying that India did not want to come to Pakistan because their “pandits” would not be allowed in the country. The assertions escalated in an increasingly ridiculous manner, claiming 22 priests had gone to the stadium a day before and held rituals there.
In the video, a self-proclaimed cricket analyst can be heard saying, “India had deployed 22 Pandits (priests) in Dubai Stadium at strategic points. This is being done to distract Pakistani players. This means 2 pandits taking over 1 Pakistani player. This was the reason why India did not want to come to Pakistan, as they would not have got visas for these pandits. They could not have done such practices there. They have been doing this jaadu tona (black magic) in the past because of which our cricketers don’t perform well.”
These vexatious comments come in the wake of India’s emphatic six-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Champions Trophy, featuring Virat Kohli’s 51st ODI ton. India had chased down the target of 241 in just 42.3 overs to secure a semifinal birth.
