Punjab Kings were one of the most active teams during the two days of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Entering with the largest purse, having retained only two stars from the previous season, they had to rebuild their squad from scratch.
They kicked off by using the RTM card for Arshdeep Singh and securing Shreyas Iyer for a whopping INR 26.75 crore. On the second day, they signed South African all-rounder Marco Jansen for ₹7 crore and Australian cricketer Josh Inglis for ₹2.60 crore. Australian all-rounder Aaron Hardie, who has played 11 ODIs and 13 T20Is for Australia, was picked up for ₹1.25 crore and will join fellow Aussies Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, and Glenn Maxwell.
Aussie pacer Xavier Bartlett was also added to the squad for ₹80 lakh. Young Delhi batter Priyansh Arya was picked up for ₹3.8 crore after attracting bids from Delhi Capitals and RCB. Additionally, Punjab Kings acquired Musheer Khan and Mumbai all-rounder Suryash Shedge for ₹30 lakh each. Shreyas Iyer is a potential candidate for the captaincy of Punjab Kings in IPL 2025.
