Dawid scored his second ODI century during the 1st match of the series played at Adelaide Oval on 17 November 2022. The left-handed batter made 134 off 128 balls with 12 fours and 4 sixes.

The newly ODI captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to field first. Mitchell Starc produced stunning delivery to dismiss Jason Roy. Pat Cummins dismissed Phil Salt and James Vince to put England under severe pressure. Dawid came at the crease with the scoreboard reading 18 for 1.

Malan looked steady hitting some lovely shots as wickets fell from the other end. Sam Billings and Malan added 35 runs for the fourth wicket. The southpaw showed intent completing fifty off 64 balls while Jos Buttler and Liam Dawson could not provide significant partnerships.

The left-handed batter impressed with his shots not allowing the Australian bowlers to settle. He completed the century off 107 balls and upped the ante smashing them to all parts of the ground with 134 off 128 balls with 12 boundaries and 4 sixes.
