Opening the innings, Dhanawade faced 323 deliveries and scored those runs at 312.38 strike rate.

The youngster’s epic innings means that he now holds the record for the highest individual score in any form of representative cricket. He has bettered AEJ Collins”s unbeaten 628* runs for Clark”s House against North Town in Clifton College in 1899 in the UK.

The young Sarfaraz Khan had scored 439 runs in 2009, which was surpassed by Arman Jaffer who scored 498 in 2010. This was bettered by Prithvi Shaw’s score of 546 runs only to be shattered by Dhanawade with his tally of a mammoth unbeaten 1009* runs.

Speaking to Times of India, Prashant Dhanawade, father of Pranav, who drives auto-rickshaw for a living and was present at the ground to witness the world record being created, said, “A father of one of his friends called me and asked, “you are not at the ground?”. So I immediately rushed to the venue. It”s obviously a very proud day. It”s a reward for 11 years of his hard work.”

With the IPL 2016 season mot very far off from now, franchisees would have definitely taken note of this epic innings and might be preparing themselves to knock at the door of Pranav;s house, sooner than later.
