Team India have announced Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi as replacements for pace bowler Harshit Rana and veteran spinner Varun Chakaravarthy in the ODI and T20I squads, respectively. However, India will play an ODI series against England, followed by a T20I tour of Zimbabwe as well.
However, Harshit Rana felt discomfort in his right hamstring during the third T20I against England. Scans also confirmed a Grade 1 injury, ruling him out of the upcoming ODI series against England. He will now report to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) for further assessment and management as well.
Chakaravarthy, meanwhile, suffered a similar issue in the same game as well, reporting discomfort in his left hamstring as well. An MRI scan then confirmed a Grade 2 injury, and on specialist medical advice he has been ruled out of the T20I series against Zimbabwe too. He too will report to the BCCI COE for further management as well.
However, Prince Yadav has been included in both squads, while Ravi Bishnoi joined as a replacement in the T20I set-up. Notably, India have lost a five-match series to England 4-0 after facing a series loss against Ireland.
