Prithvi Shaw flies England after being depressed over suspension

Prithvi Shaw and his suspension over cough syrup consumption have been one of the most spoken topics. The latest development on this issue is that Shaw is upset over the decision and flew England to take a break. According to a Times of India report, the young Indian opener has left the country on his personal expenses.

A couple of weeks ago, he was granted a backdated suspension on the grounds of using a substance banned by the BCCI. He seemed to have consumed “Terabutaline”, a chemical used in cough syrups. Few BCCI officials pointed out that Prithvi wasn”t attentive during the Anti-doping program organized by the board a few months ago.

Prithvi said that he was “shaken” by this suspension and apologized for the same. He further urged aspiring sportsmen to be very careful during medicine consumption.

Unavailability for home series

Prithvi Shaw rose to prominence after his successful stint as a skipper in the Under-19 World Cup 2018. His form fetched a test call-up where he trashed Carribean bowlers to the nook and corner of the stadium. Additionally, he ended the two lath test series as the highest run-scorer thus winning the player of the tournament award. However, when everyone expected for his Australian series, an injury forced an early exit.

He will not be under the selection radar until November 15. This would ultimately mean that he will miss the home test series against Bangladesh and South Africa.
