Prithvi Shaw, the Mumbai skipper, was seen helping the groundstaff drag covers over the pitch. The heartwarming gesture from the young batter has earned applauds across social media platforms. It was Day 4 of the Ranji Trophy 2022 finals between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh as rain interrupted the play at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

Madhya Pradesh win Maiden Ranji Trophy Title
Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh (MP), both teams set an ideal game in Bengaluru, but MP gave it all to break off the Ranji Trophy drought. Mumbai batting first posted a decent total of 374 thanks to Sarfaraz Khan’s another ton.
The Delhi Capitals (DC) batter scored 134 runs, with 13 fours and a couple of sixes. Khan had a stunning Ranji season overall as the 24-year-old notched 982 runs, in merely 9 innings, at an average of 122.75, with four centuries and two half-centuries.
Besides, Shaw finished the campaign with scores of 47 (79) and 44 (52), in the two innings of the final. MP’s first innings comprised three centuries from Yash Dubey, Shubham Sharma, and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Rajat Patidar. Shams Mulani of Mumbai secured a five-wicket haul. Mumbai wrapped the MP innings after a huge score of 536.
In reply, Mumbai batters couldn’t sustain long following the situation. Mumbai Indians and MP spinner Kumar Kartikeya captured four wickets, while Suved Parkar (51 off 58) of Mumbai was the highest run-getter of the inning. Given the target of 108 runs, MP won the game by six wickets, eventually winning their maiden Ranji Trophy title.
