Catching has been the highlight on the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 19-year-old Priyam Garg lived up to the expectation to dismiss Shubman Gill to give Sunrisers Hyderabad a much-needed breakthrough against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Meanwhile, KKR got off to a flying start as Sunrisers Hyderabad asked them to bat first. Openers Rahul Tripathi and Shubman Gill hit the gears right from the start to utilise the powerplay. T Natarajan drew the first blood removing Tripathi (23 off 16) just at the stroke of the end of the powerplays.

Since then, Gill and Nitish Rana took full control of the game. While Gill played the anchors role while Rana went hard against Hyderabad’s star bowler – Rashid Khan before a brilliant piece of fielding from Priyam Garg helped David Warner & Co to break the partnership.

The incident took place in the 12th over of the match when Shubman Gill looked to break the shackles. He went for the inside-out loft against the flighted delivery from Rashid Khan. However, the ball skewed off the inside half and flies to the left of wide long-off where Priyam Garg judges it to perfection with a full-length diving catch to his left.

Garg never took his eyes off the ball and did well to maintain balance on the slide to complete another brilliant catch of the season. Priyam Garg continues to impress and justified his selection, this time with a brilliant catch.

Meanwhile, Priyam Garg backed his brilliant effort with another one to send Nitish Rana packing. Sunrisers Hyderabad made good use of the passage to removed Andre Russell cheaply as well to have Kolkata at 121 runs from 17 overs. It will now require a herculean effort from Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik to guide KKR post a challenging total on the board.
