PSL 2024: [WATCH] Kieron Pollard Grabs An Exceptional Catch At The Long-Off Position

In the PSL 9 match against Lahore Qalandars on Saturday, Karachi Kings’ all-rounder Kieron Pollard executed a remarkable catch at long-off. The former West Indian white-ball captain’s catch resulted in Mir Hamza securing his second wicket of the innings.

This incident occurred in the 13th over when Jahandad Khan hit a short-of-a-length delivery from the left-arm seamer to long-off. Positioned at the boundary, the towering West Indian extended his right hand beyond the fence, and surprisingly, the ball stuck. Despite that, Pollard had to navigate beyond the fence to complete the catch.

The Kings delivered a comparatively controlled bowling display, limiting the defending champions Lahore Qalandars to a total of 175 within their allotted 20 overs. Hamza, Hasan Ali, and Shamsi each claimed two wickets.

Kieron Pollard’s decisive performance leads Karachi Kings to a close triumph

The Trinidadian played a pivotal role with the bat in Karachi Kings’ narrow two-wicket victory. With four wickets down in the powerplay, responsibility rested on Pollard and Shoaib Malik.

They forged a crucial 95-run partnership before Pollard departed, scoring 58 off 33 deliveries, including five sixes. Malik fell for 39 in the 17th over, taken care of by Irfan Khan and Hasan Ali.

In the final over, with 11 runs needed, Ali smashed a six in the first delivery. Hamza secured the winning run as Kings notched their second win in three matches.

Zaman Khan and Ahsan Hafeez secured two wickets each, but Haris Rauf emerged as the standout bowler with figures of 4-0-22-1.

Despite their previous two championship victories, the Qalandars have struggled this season, losing all four matches. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi’s form is concerning, having only claimed four wickets in as many matches in the tournament so far.
