Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer’s batting class was on display during the fifth T20I against West Indies on Sunday, August 7 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida. He did not have great outings in the first three matches and was dropped for the fourth T20I. The youngster made a sparkling comeback to the team in the final match.
Indian team decided to rest senior players, including skipper Rohit Sharma for the fifth T20I. Shreyas Iyer got an opportunity to open the innings along with wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan. The duo got India off to a decent start, scoring 37 runs off the first four overs. Batting with positive intent, Shreyas took on the West Indies bowlers.
The right-handed batter slammed a consecutive sixes in the eighth over against Odean Smith, to accelerate the innings. He got to his fifty in just thirty deliveries in the tenth over. Rovman Powell bowled wide outside off stump delivery, Shreyas threw his bat at it and got it over the point fielder for a boundary to complete his fifty.

Today is Shreyas Iyer's day 🙂
Yes, one can point out technical flaws but he has that steely resolve. Just doesn't give up.

Pure class oozing out from the bat of Shreyas Iyer as he found some form with the bat and notched up a great 50. Finally, he's back in form, the way he's middled every delivery shows up his positive attitude and mindset.#ShreyasIyer pic.twitter.com/fw50yPGyyY

I must say,
There is no one better than Shreyas Iyer to come in and build the innings beautifully and then get out in the worst possible way.#INDvsWI— Jaammii.. (@Jaammiing) August 7, 2022
