Rahmanullah Gurabaz Obtains MS Dhoni's Autograph On A Bat After CSK vs KKR IPL 2024 Match

Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz collected MS Dhoni’s autograph on a bat following the IPL 2024 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Monday. Gurbaz hasn’t played a match this season as KKR has chosen Phil Salt for the opening and wicketkeeping duties. Consequently, the Afghan player is currently on the bench, awaiting his opportunity.

This evening, Rahmanullah Gurbaz shared a photo on his official X account, featuring himself alongside MS Dhoni while holding a bat with Dhoni’s autograph. In the caption, Gurbaz shared thoughts on living life. Sharing the post on X, Gurbaz wrote:

“Stop worrying about the past. Stop thinking about the future. Just live in the moment and be happy. !MS”

Ruturaj Gaikwad leads CSK to a smooth 7-wicket win over KKR alongside MS Dhoni

KKR opted to bat first after losing the toss. However, their batsmen struggled on a sluggish pitch, resulting in Kolkata Knight Riders managing only 137/9 in the initial innings. CSK’s Ravindra Jadeja (3/18), Tushar Deshpande (3/33), and Mustafizur Rahman (2/22) bowled superbly to keep the opposition to a modest total.

CSK chased down the target of 138 runs comfortably, reaching 141/3 in just 17.4 overs, securing a clinical seven-wicket victory. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad led the charge with an unbeaten innings of 67* (58), guiding the team to victory.

Towards the end of the match, Chennai fans were treated to the sight of their beloved Thala, MS Dhoni, who briefly appeared at the crease and faced three balls before Ruturaj sealed the win with a boundary.

Gaikwad shared his thoughts on the victory after the match, stating:

“Little bit of nostalgia for me. My first IPL fifty as captain, Mahi bhai was there with me in the end. The wicket was little tricky but didn’t want the youngsters to put under pressure. It was a 150 160 wicket. Thought it was not was a six hitting pitch.”

He added: “I think it is what we have been following. Jaddu always comes after the powerplay and gives us momentum. To be honest with this team I don’t really need to tell anything in the bowling or the fielding department. Everyone is in a good headspace and Mahi bhai and Fleming are there.”

The next match for Chennai Super Kings will be against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on April 14th.
