Rahul Dravid Interacts With Team India Ahead Of New Zealand Test Series

Former India head coach Rahul Dravid was seen engaging with the Indian team during a practice session at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, ahead of their first Test against New Zealand. The three-match series is set to commence on October 16. Dravid was spotted conversing with captain Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Virat Kohli, creating a buzz on social media.

The training session appeared relaxed as the team prepared for another series after a successful home performance against Bangladesh, where India won 2-0.

India’s Recent Test Form

India has shown impressive red-ball form recently, securing a dominant 2-0 Test series victory against Bangladesh. The team claimed a comfortable win in the first Test in Chennai, followed by a hard-fought triumph in Kanpur, which was affected by rain.

Despite nearly three days being washed out in Kanpur, India managed to emerge victorious. These wins solidified their position at the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) standings, although they still need further success to secure a spot in the WTC final.

India’s Path to the World Test Championship Final

Although India leads the WTC standings, they must continue winning to ensure a place in the final. To achieve this, they need to clean sweep New Zealand in the current series and secure at least one win in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series against Australia.

Failing this, the team’s qualification will depend on the results of other matches. With the New Zealand series just days away, captain Rohit Sharma will be eager to set a strong tone and give India a winning start.

As India gears up for the much-anticipated Test series against New Zealand, the presence of Rahul Dravid at the practice session adds a boost of confidence to the team. With their recent success against Bangladesh, India is in excellent form but still faces a challenging road ahead to secure a spot in the World Test Championship final.

A strong performance in the New Zealand series will be crucial, and under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, the team will be looking to continue their winning momentum and start the series on a high note.
