If you watched the highlights of the game between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals, you will notice the amount of drama the match had in it. After Kings XI Punjab batting first scored 223 runs, posing a target of 224 runs for Rajasthan. It looked like a very difficult chase since if RR chase it down it would be highest successful chase in the history of the IPL.

Rajasthan had a rusty start as they lost Jos Buttler very early on in the innings. Which brought Sanju Samson to the crease along with Steve Smith. Both batsmen got off to steady start until Steve Smith lost his wicket in the process.

After this, we were up for a surprise as Rahul Tewatia walked out, a move criticised by all the commentators on board as Tewatia isn’t really known for his batting.

Well, Rahul Tewatia had a rough start as he scored just 17 runs off the first 23 deliveries he faced. But then came the over of Sheldon Cottrell where Tewatia smashed 5 sixes in one over to pull the match back in Rajasthan Royals favour. From here it was an easy business for the RR batsmen as they chased down the target of 224 runs in the final over of the game.

After the match got over, Rahul Tewatia who was in all smiles was seen mimicking Sheldon Cottrel’s famous salute celebration In a video posted on Rajasthan Royals social media accounts was captioned as

“Straight from the dressing room, into your hearts”

As we mentioned the match was all sorts of drama as Rahul Tewetia did the impossible which helped Rajasthan Royals to complete the highest successful chase in the history of the Indian Premier League. Talk about someone becoming a hero from zero in the very same game, this game all in all has been about Rahul Tewatia in the end.
