Ramandeep Singh Aims For A Bigger Role In IPL 2025

After playing a crucial role in Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) victorious IPL 2024 campaign, all-rounder Ramandeep Singh is now focused on making an impact as a bowler in the upcoming season.

Speaking on Knight Live Adda, he shared his ambition to contribute not just with the bat but also with the ball. Ramandeep’s recent performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he took five wickets at an economy rate of 8.10 for Punjab, have boosted his confidence in his bowling ability.

He revealed that KKR’s coaching staff expects him to be as effective with the ball as he is with the bat, and he is working towards delivering crucial overs for the team. “I want to win games as a bowler,” he stated, determined to broaden his role in the squad.

Rising Through the Ranks

Ramandeep’s all-round abilities were evident in IPL 2024, where he scored 125 runs at a staggering strike rate of 201.61, cementing his place as a reliable middle-order batter. His performances caught the attention of the selectors, earning him a T20I debut for India against South Africa in late 2024.

His retention by KKR in the mega auction underscores the franchise’s trust in his potential. Reflecting on his career growth, he expressed gratitude for making his international debut and being retained by KKR, calling it a “dream come true.” Looking ahead, he aims to give his best for the team once again and contribute in every possible way.

Special Bond with Eden Gardens and KKR Fans

The Punjab-born cricketer also acknowledged the unwavering support of KKR’s passionate fans at Eden Gardens. He shared that their energy and chants create an electrifying atmosphere, which fuels his performance on the field.

“We have the most wonderful fans, and I look forward to making them proud once again,” he remarked. With KKR set to begin their IPL 2025 campaign against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 22, Ramandeep’s growth as an all-rounder could be a key factor in the team’s quest to defend their title.
