Star performer from the recently concluded ICC Under 19 World Cup 2024 played in South Africa, Musheer Khan scored a brilliant century on the first day of Ranji Trophy quarterfinals against Baroda at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, BKC, Mumbai on 23rd February 2024.

Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and decided to bat first. Musheer Khan came to the crease with Prithvi Shaw being dismissed for quickfire 33. Mumbai lost quick wickets of Lalwani, Rahane, and Shams Mulani in quick succession. Musheer looked impressive with positive shots putting some pressure on Baroda bowlers. Mumbai went into the lunch break at 117 for 4 with Musheer on 39.

After the lunch break, Musheer looked impressive keeping the scoreboard ticking making life tough for Baroda bowlers. He completed his maiden first-class fifty and helped Mumbai recover from a tough situation. Musheer Khan made the batting look easy not allowing Baroda bowlers to settle. It was an impressive batting performance by Mumbai as they ended the 2nd session on 188 for 5 with Musheer remaining not out on 84.

Musheer completed his maiden first century off 181 deliveries that helped Mumbai to recover from 99 for 4. He looked impressive again after his century hitting shots on the merit of the delivery. Musheer kept the scoreboard ticking as Mumbai ended the first day on 248 for 5 with the Under 19 batter not out on 128. During his brilliant knock of 128, he hit just 10 boundaries that helped Mumbai recover from a tough situation.

They were missing key players including Shivam Dube and Shreyas Iyer. Musheer Khan took responsibility and helped Mumbai end on a high. Sarfaraz Khan is on national duty for Indian cricket.

Musheer Khan would be looking to post a big total that would help Mumbai post something great and put pressure on Baroda batters. Musheer Khan and Hardik Tamore showed some resistance as they added so far 106 runs for the 5th wicket.

The star Indian batter proved his worth in the recently concluded Under 19 World Cup where India finished as runners-up after losing to Australia in a one-sided contest.
