Tamil Nadu captain Sai Kishore was the shining light on the 2nd day of the semi-finals against Mumbai at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BAK, Mumbai on 3rd March 2024. He started bowling with success getting rid of Mohit Awasthi with a lovely stumping by Narayan Jagadeesan. Sai Kishore looked impressive not allowing the Mumbai batters to score runs freely.
He then produced a stunning delivery to dismiss Mumbai captain Rahane with a good catch by Indrajith. Sai Kishore led from the front getting wickets of half-centurion Musheer Khan with a lovely piece of bowling and then Shams Mulani to leave Mumbai in deep trouble at 106 for 7. He continued his merry way as Shardul Thakur and Tamore added a valuable partnership for the 8th wicket. Kishore then took the wicket of Tamore to pick his 6th wicket of the innings.
It was a marathon bowling effort by Kishore as he finished with figures of 6 for 97 in 37 overs. Despite his brilliance, Tamil Nadu might be knocked out of the tournament. Mumbai ended the 2nd day in a strong position at 353 for 9 with a lead of 207 runs.
Kishore took the wicket of Bhupen Lalwani right before the stroke of stumps. It was a great bowling performance by Kishore who bowled his heart out as the rest of the bowlers did not give support. Sandeep Warrier took 1 wicket while Kuldeep Sen took 2 wickets.
