Rashid Khan Criticizes Ex-ACB CEO Shafiq Stanikzai

Rashid Khan placed responsibility on Stanikzai and his administration for Afghanistan’s unsatisfactory performances in past World Cups. Eight years into his international cricket journey, Rashid Khan, is poised to mark this milestone later this month.

Additionally, Rashid has been a standout performer in various international franchise leagues worldwide. In an unexpected twist, the 25-year-old cricketer used ‘X’ as a platform to publicly criticize Shafiq Stanikzai, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB).

Rashid accused Stanikzai of disseminating misleading information regarding the Afghanistan team’s preparations for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India.

Rashid Khan emphasized that the current 15-member Afghan squad is the most physically prepared and fit team the nation has ever dispatched to a major tournament. He pointed a finger at Shafiq Stanikzai and his management team for the unsatisfactory performances Afghanistan had in past World Cup editions.

“I think it’s the best and one of the most fit teams we have ever had for any of the mega events so far and I believe we can deliver to the best this time. Many compromises has been done during your management.”

”@ShafiqStanikzai in the past while selecting the teams for the Wold Cups which has costed the nation many important games. Instead of spreading false information it should be better to support this bunch of great and best guys,” Rashid wrote on his ‘X’ handle.

Your tweet has left me slightly confused: Shafiq Stanikzai

Shafiq responded to Rashid’s post, expressing his confusion regarding the allegations. He referred to Rashid as ‘champ’ and asked him to remember how he had previously acknowledged Shafiq for Afghanistan’s positive results after his tenure had concluded.

“My Dear Champ @rashidkhan_19 Your tweet has left me somewhat bewildered. It appears to be at odds with the sentiments you’ve previously expressed. Do you recall your past tweets where you lauded  me, dedicating victories to my contributions to the ACB after my tenure?” Stanikzai wrote.

Stanikzai followed up with a series of posts to highlight Rashid’s accomplishments for Afghanistan cricket. However, he concluded by expressing his respect for the star bowler and the Afghanistan team, emphasizing that he would remain an admirer of both for all time.
