Sunrisers Hyderabad strike bowler Rashid Khan has taken 19 wickets from 14 games this season. He will have a chance to add to that list when SRH takes on RCB in the IPL 2020 Eliminator on Friday. The leg-spinner has been one of the most important players for the franchise and his performance this season was no different.

He has bowled at a strike rate of 17.6 and a best of 3 for 7 against Delhi Capitals. He will be up for a matchup against Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli, who celebrated his 32nd birthday today.

Rashid Khan Reveals His Mantra For Success

Talking to Sky Sports recently, Rashid Khan opened up on yet another successful season with the franchise. He said that ahead of the start of the season, he had made up his mind on targeting the good length area. The Sunrisers Hyderabad cricketer has been exceptionally good in the tournament.

“Before the competition, I had it in my mind that I had to forget about wickets, forget about everything. I just needed to bowl and hit that area, which in this IPL I have hit consistently. That’s how a lot of runs haven’t been scored off me as well; that might be the reason behind my figures. I have to be really consistent with my line and length – if I am then if not a wicket, I think a dot ball will come.” said Rashid.

Rashid Khan also spoke about maintaining a good line and length to limit the threat from opposition batsmen. He will be a lynchpin as Hyderabad aim to go past Bangalore and get one-inch close to the finals.

“To have it in the mind that the batsman is on the back foot and is not going to charge on you then I have the advantage, but at the same time, I need to bowl in the right areas, otherwise anyone can smash you,” Rashid Khan explained.

He concluded by saying that he does not have any secret for success. Rashid admitted he falls back on his old videos to see what he did good and concentrates on pitching the ball on a good length area.

“I don’t think there is any secret [to my form]; I work hard to bowl more best deliveries in a good length area. I have seen in old videos with my pitching I made it too easy for the batsman by pitching too short or full,” concluded Rashid.
