The first week of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has witnessed many cricketers getting injured. However, the shoulder injury of Delhi Capitals off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been the most-debated. The injury lay-off is likely to keep him out of Delhi’s upcoming game against Chennai Super Kings.
Incidentally, Ashwin landed badly as he looked to stop the ball and seems to copped an injury. It looked bad right from the onset. The incident took place in the sixth over of the Kings XI Punjab innings. Glenn Maxwell pushed one passed the bowler to collect a single.
Ashwin doubtful for Chennai clash
The physio had to help Ravichandran Ashwin come out of the field as he looked in extreme pain. However, the injury was not as bad as it looked. He came out at the end of the game to collect his prize during the post-match presentation ceremony.

Meanwhile, as Delhi Capitals prepare for Chennai clash, Ravichandran Ashwin remains doubtful. Mohammad Kaif speaking in a video conference said that they will decide on Ashwin on the match day. The veteran is likely to practise today and see how things go from here.
“Ashwin is going for practice today and we haven’t taken a call yet if he is going to be available or not for tomorrow’s game. We will see how the practice goes. We are monitoring him very closely. But yes, if he is not fit to play tomorrow, we have Amit Mishra who is very experienced player. He has been doing well in IPL. So yes that’s a plus point in this squad that we have got a replacement ready,” Kaif said.
Meanwhile, if Ravichandran Ashwin failed to miss to make it to the playing XI, it will be a massive blow for the side. Ashwin picked two crucial against Kings XI Punjab to change the course of the game. Delhi finally went to win the game on Super Over.
