Ravichandran Ashwin Reacts To Mitchell Starcs’ Gesture For His Wife Alyssa Healy

Host Australia will lock horns with Indian National Cricket Team in the title clash of ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2020 on March 8 (Sunday) at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. Meanwhile, fast bowler Mitchell Starc has shown an impressive gesture to skip the final game against South Africa to remain present in the stadium to support his wife Alyssa Healy, who is a part of the Australia squad. 

Meanwhile, the Australian men's side has already sealed the series 2-0 in the three-match ODI series against South Africa. Thus, Starc, who was an inevitable part of the squad decided to leave his teammates and reach the land of Kangaroos earlier to support his wife in the final encounter.

The Australia pace spearhead has received full support from the team management to return home early. Head coach Justin Langer made it clear that he did not want to deny Mitchell Starc “a once-in-a-lifetime chance” to watch his wife play in a World Cup final on home ground. 

“They were extremely supportive … so I’m very appreciative for that and very grateful that I can go back and support Alyssa, much like she was around for our 2015 World Cup win,” said Mitchell Starc. 

“That was very special for all the boys to have their families involved so it’s a fantastic opportunity to repay that. They’ve definitely captured the support around Australia and overseas as well and hopefully, there’s a massive crowd in Melbourne on Sunday,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc's sweet gesture has also left an impression on India's ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. has been receiving praise from all over for his decision and Ravichandran Ashwin also joined the bandwagon to praise it.

 “So refreshing to see this!! Well done ," Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter to call the decision refreshing.
