The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has already witnessed some of the breathtaking catches. On Wednesday, Ravindra Jadeja combined with Faf du Plessis to take another brilliant catch to dismiss Sunil Narine, who was showing signs to be destructive in the middle-overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders changed their opening pair after opting to bat first. Rahul Tripathi, who was opening the innings for the first time in IPL 2020, immediately responded well with a 50+ score. But their in-form batsman Shubman Gill returned early followed by Nitish Rana.

Reeling at 70 for two in 8.1 overs, Kolkata management pushed Sunil Narine in the middle. After a couple of poor outings at the top, the all-rounder finally managed to find some ground under his feet. He struck one four and six each before a brilliant piece of catch ended his stay at the crease.

Ravindra Jadeja took an absolutely spectacular catch, at deep mid-wicket, diving parallel to the ground to his right.  Meanwhile, just when he was about to skid onto the boundary triangles, tosses the ball to Faf du Plessis, who was running from long-on to complete the catch.

Karn Sharma, who was playing his first IPL 2020 game, looped the ball and the line teased Sunil Narine to go for the big one. The attempted heave was almost going over the rope only to be bettered by the fielding brilliance of CSK’s Ravindra Jadeja and Faf du Plessis.

Meanwhile, the KKR management won’t be too disappointed who scored 17 from nine – the exact things he was asked to do.

The brilliant piece of fielding charged the Chennai Super Kings outfit who removed the dangerous Eoin Morgan and Andre Russell quickly to put Kolkata Knight Riders under pressure. Struggling at 128 for five in 15.2 overs, they will need a special knock from skipper Dinesh Karthik to post a challenging total.
