Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ravindra Jadeja is likely to be ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2022 with an injury. Incidentally, the ace-all-rounder missed his team’s last game against Delhi Capitals (DC).

The 33-year-old cricketer from Saurashtra injured his arm while fielding during the team’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Shivam Dube replaced Ravindra Jadeja in the playing XI.

However, as things have panned out in the last few days, the India international might miss the rest of the season. The Chennai franchise are left with three more matches and they need to win all three to have a shot at the playoff spot and hope Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals lose their remaining games.

“The CSK camp assessed his injury for the last couple of days but it hasn’t exactly got better,” a report in the Times Of India claimed. The report further adds that CSK may not risk Jadeja further in the tournament knowing that they do have a very bleak chance of qualifying for the playoffs from here on.

Ravindra Jadeja’s record in IPL 2022

Ravindra Jadeja had an awful campaign in IPL 2022, failing to chip in with both bat and ball. He has just managed 116 runs and five wickets in the 10 matches he has played so far. Jadeja’s fielding also took a toll as he was seen dropping catches, which is very very rare.

Meanwhile, the reported break due to injury could work in favour of the all-rounder. He can regain form ahead of the home series against South Africa, which is scheduled to commence on June 9. India will a fit Ravindra Jadeja as they have some important series lined up in the next couple of months, including the ICC T20 World Cup.
