The ICC announced nominations for the player of the month for February. There were many test matches going on with India taking on Australia in 2 Test matches, England facing New Zealand, and West Indies facing Zimbabwe.

Here we look at the performance of the nominees for player of the month for Feb.

Ravindra Jadeja

It has been a great month for Ravindra Jadeja in February. He returned to the Indian squad after a long injury layoff and delivered the goods. It was a remarkable performance by Jadeja in the first Test match at Nagpur picking up 7 wickets and scoring 70 valuable runs.  He was named player of the match for his match-winning performance.

Jadeja proved his worth again in the 2nd Test by picking 10 wickets in the match including career-best figures of 7 for 52 during the second innings. He was named of the match for his match-winning performance. Jadeja was the key factor that helped India register comprehensive wins in the first two Test matches.

Harry Brooks

Harry Brooks had a dream run in the month of February. It was a remarkable performance by Brooks who showed his class during the 2 Test matches against New Zealand in their home den. He scored quickfire 89 and 54 in the first match of the series at Mount Maunganui. For his match-winning performances, Brooks was named the player of the match.

Brooks showed his class during the first innings of the 2nd Test match at Wellington. With England struggling at 21 for 3, Harry Brooks showed his class with a career-best score of 186 and helped the visitors post a massive total of 435 for 8 declare. He was dismissed without opening his account in 2nd innings. He was named the player of the series award for 329 runs in 2 matches.

Gudkesh Motie

The West Indies left-arm spinner Gudkesh Motie had a decent outing in the Test series against Zimbabwe. He had a disappointing outing with figures of 2 for 110 in the first innings but returned with figures of 4 for 50 as Zimbabwe fought hard to earn a draw.

Motie provided a superb display of bowling in the 2nd Test match picking up 13 wickets in the match helping West Indies register a commanding win over Zimbabwe. He was named player of the match and player of the series award for his 19 wickets.
