On Friday, June 23, all-arounder Ravindra Jadeja celebrated the tenth anniversary of India’s Champions Trophy victory in 2013 by posting on Twitter.
Jadeja’s international cricket debut occurred during the competition. In the championship game against England, he had the most wickets and was named Player of the Match.
In a photo he uploaded, he was holding the two awards, and the caption read:

But Jadeja, who wasn’t well known for his batting at the time, contributed with 33 (35) from No. In order to raise the target to 129, he joined forces with Virat Kohli for 47 runs.
In the second innings, the left-arm spinner secured crucial dismissals of Ian Bell for 13(16) and Jos Buttler for 0 off 1 to pave the way for India’s historic five-run victory.
He now has 12 wickets in the series after five games, at an average of 12 points per catch and a 3 point 75 economy rate.
For any bowler in the competition with at least five wickets, both of those statistics were the best.
Against the West Indies at the Oval, the 34-year-old also boasted the best tournament statistics with a 5/36.
Recently, Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of Chennai Super Kings, defended Jadeja’s tweets from the IPL 2023.
The all-rounder had made it known that he was annoyed by the Chepauk crowd’s enthusiasm for MS Dhoni’s batting rather than his wicket.
“When he [Jadeja] went in to bat, he [had] 5-10 balls left,” Viswanathan said of the batting lineup of Ruturaj, Conway, Moeen, and Rahane.”
“It sometimes clicks in these circumstances, but not always. However, he also knew that Dhoni would bat next and that he occasionally only received two or three balls.”
“In these circumstances, the crowd would always yell “Dhoni!” whenever he entered. He might have had some hurt feelings. That pressure could have applied to any player, really.”
“Despite sending a tweet about it, he didn’t voice his displeasure”, the speaker continued.
Thanks to his 15 (6) and a last-ball boundary, CSK won the 2023 IPL. When India’s tour of the West Indies begins on July 12, the all-around player is anticipated to return to action.
