Ace Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the entire four-match Test series against England scheduled to start in February. Initially, it was reported that Jadeja will miss the first two matches of the series but as it looks now, the all-rounder will take some more time to recover from the injury.

Meanwhile, Jadeja suffered a finger dislocation during India’s third Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground while batting. A ball jumped off the turf to hit his finger which required immediate attention. While he continued batting then but didn’t return to the field for the second innings.

India is scheduled to play four Tests, five T20 Internationals, and three ODIs starting February 5. The first two Tests will be played in Chennai while the next two will be in Ahmedabad. This will be their first home series ever since the coronavirus pandemic broke out last year.

Meanwhile, missing Ravindra Jadeja will be a big blow to the side considering the form he has been in for the last couple of years. However, this side has proved that they have the pedigree to deliver as they fought from behind to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1 despite missing senior cricketers due to injuries. The likes of Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur stood up to the task and did the unimaginable.

Sundar, who made his debut in the last Test against Australia at the Gabba might replace Ravindra Jadeja in the playing XI following his decent show with bat and ball. However, it will be interesting to see what the management does with Axar Patel also in the side.
