Ravindra Jadeja became the only Indian pacer after Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni to represent India in at least 50 matches across all formats. The MCG test was Jadeja’s 50th Test match of his career. He played an important role with bat and ball as India drew level in the series. Apart from the left-hander, only Kohli and Dhoni are the two Indian cricketers to achieve this feat in the past. Meanwhile, Kohli was not available for this Test match after he was granted parental leave after India’s loss in Adelaide.
Taking to Twitter Ravindra Jadeja thanked the BCCI and his teammates Kohli and Dhoni on sharing this special landmark.
“It’s a great honour to join Mahi Bhai and Virat as the only others to have played 50 games across all 3 formats for India. A big thank you to the BCCI, my teammates, the brilliant support staff for showing faith in me and for always backing me. Onwards and upwards. Jai Hind” Tweeted Jadeja shortly after India’s win at the MCG.
