Team India pacer Arshdeep Singh put up a roaring performance, early with the ball against Pakistan on Sunday, October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He struck a double blow to the arch-rivals dismissing arguably two of their best batters, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Pakistan was left reeling for 15/2, early in the match.

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first, allowing his bowlers to use the conditions on offer effectively. Arshdeep Singh proved his skipper’s decision correct as he took two quick wickets to push Pakistan on the back foot. Bowling the second over of the innings, Arshdeep Singh dismissed Babar Azam for a golden duck. He bowled an inswinger, which rapped into Babar’s pads.

Soon, Rizwan too followed Babar Azam back into the hut. The Indian pacer bowled a short and quick delivery, Rizwan tried to hook but ended up top-edging the delivery. Bhuvneshwar Kumar completed the formalities by completing the catch. Rizwan managed just four runs from twelve deliveries at the crease.

Let’s take a look at how fans reacted to Arshdeep Singh’s successful spell against Pakistan:

Iftikhar Ahmed’s fifty lights up Melbourne Cricket Ground

Meanwhile, Pakistan has also lost their fourth wicket in Shadab Khan. They are 96/4 in 13.2 overs, with Shan Masood at the crease on 30 runs off 27 deliveries along with Haider Ali.
