The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the revised schedule for the ODI World Cup 2023 on Wednesday, August 9. The mega-event will kick off on October 5 in Ahmedabad, with the finals set to take place on November 19 at the same venue. Nine matches, including the eagerly awaited India-Pakistan match, have been rescheduled by the board.
India was originally slated to play Pakistan on Sunday, October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, it has been preponed by a day. The match will now take place on October 14 at the same venue. The date and timing for the October 14 double-header featuring England vs Afghanistan and New Zealand vs Bangladesh have also been changed. England’s fixture will take place on Sunday, October 15 in Delhi. Meanwhile, New Zealand’s match will take place a day earlier, on October 13 at 2:00 pm IST.

The India-Netherlands match pushed back by a day in the revised schedule
The India vs Netherlands match was originally slated to take place on November 11 in Bengaluru. However, it has been pushed back by a day in the revised schedule and will take place on November 12. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has also preponed the England vs Bangladesh and the Sri Lanka vs Pakistan matches. The first will start at 10:30 am IST instead of 2:00 pm IST on October 10. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s contest against Pakistan will take place on October 10 from 2:00 pm IST onwards.
Earlier the Kolkata Police wrote to the Cricket Association of Bengal about the challenges to providing adequate security for the England vs Pakistan match at the Eden Gardens. The match was clashing with Kali Puja on November 12 and hence had to be rescheduled. It has been preponed and will take place on November 11 now, along with another rescheduled match between Australia and Bangladesh.
