Team India youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal stole the show in the second test against England at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. He slammed a double century in the match, his first in International cricket.
Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the batting alongside skipper Rohit Sharma. He looked in good touch at the crease and kept the scoreboard ticking. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Jaiswal kept one end strong. He also scored at a brisk rate in the innings. He got to his second test century in the 48th over of the innings, with a six off Tom Hartley.
The left-handed batter kept going strong after the century and took on the England bowlers. He quickly raced in the 190s. In the 102nd over of the Indian innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed a six and a four on consecutive deliveries to get to his maiden double century. He jumped and punched in the air to celebrate the achievement. The crowd also rose in to applaud the youngster. Jaiswal becomes the third youngest Indian to get a double-hundred.
That Leap. That Celebration. That Special Feeling 👏 👏

What a knock this by Yashasvi Jaiswal. There’s already talk in the Australian camp about him with both players and coaches alike very keen to see him bat in Australia later this year. “Proper player” is how one described him #IndvEng

Good player of spin, great footwork, fine defense, capable of shifting gears, only test that remains is against quality pace attack. In Yashasvi Jaiswal India have found an all- format opener. #INDvsENG @ybj_19 pic.twitter.com/slkmF8qXBK

It was probably going to be Anderson's last over. Maybe Jaiswal could have played him out and attacked the spinners. But what an innings. On a dream batting surface, the next best is 34. Without Jaiswal, it might have been very very tricky.
