Rishabh Pant Promises A Unique Giveaway If Neeraj Chopra Wins Gold In Paris 2024

On the second of October 2023, the Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant disclosed that he would be running a lucky draw of ₹100,089 for his followers on X if the world record holder in javelin throw Neeraj Chopra keeps his gold medal in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

To make this unexpected announcement more captivating, Pant said he would give tickets for flight to other “top 10” individuals without defining the destination, calling it an effort to “get support” to Neeraj.

On Tuesday, August 6th, Chopra produced his season best of 89.34 meters in his first try during qualification round and was ranked first among the top twelve enterers who proceed to finals.

“If Neeraj chopra win a gold medal tomorrow,” Pant said in a post on X. “I will pay 100089 Rupees to lucky winner who likes the tweet and comment most . And for the rest top 10 people trying to get the atttention will get flight tickets . Let’s get support from india and outside the world for my brother (sic)”

In this case, Neeraj Chopra has to compete with eight other throwers (which is an unusually large number) who qualified directly by throwing over 84 meters and would also have to contend with the additional incentive of being the first Indian to win two individual gold medals in Olympic history.

“Backing our athletes is essential, no matter the result”- Rishabh Pant

In a subsequent post on X, just minutes after the initial one, Pant discussed the importance of supporting athletes regardless of the results of their efforts.

“I completely agree! Supporting our athletes is crucial, regardless of the outcome. Their dedication, hard work, and the spirit they bring to the games is something we should all appreciate and celebrate. Let’s show the world the incredible spirit of Indian sports indeed! 🇮🇳🏅
