Rishabh Pant To Play The Opening Match Of The Delhi Premier League T20

Reports from the Times of India state that Rishabh Pant, India’s wicketkeeper would be making his first appearance during the opening match of the Delhi Premier League T20. According to reports in the Times of India, the team captain for Delhi Capitals has indicated he would be there for the first match.

The Purani Delhi 6 is expected to have Rishabh Pant playing against South Delhi Superstars led by batsman Ayush Badoni (Captain Lucknow Super Giants). On August 17th at Arun Jaitley Stadium located in Delhi, both teams are to face off in what will be the start of this tournament.

Franchise cricket has become increasingly popular worldwide over recent years. There are now many leagues around the world due to their immense global following, especially within the Indian Premier League (IPL). Excitement about the inaugural season of the T20 tournament is on high among cricket fans, with its commencement date set for tomorrow August 17th.

In the Delhi Premier League, there will be ten teams overall: six male and four female ones. Some of DPL’s first players include famous personalities like Ishant Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Harshit Rana.

Rishabh Pant All Set To Play The Opening Match:

The Delhi Premier League T20’s first season will begin on August 17. Team India’s wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant, has stated he will play in the first game.

Pant plays for Purani Delhi 6, and in the Arun Jaitley Stadium, his squad will take on Ayush Badoni’s South Delhi Superstarz. Ishant Sharma will be there in addition to star player Rishabh Pant.

“Rishabh has agreed to play the first match of the DPLT20 as he wanted to be a part of this initiative that is likely to provide great platform for youngsters in Delhi. He acknowledges the role played by Delhi cricket in his career. However, it’s important fo him to take care of himself given there is a long Test season coming” TOI said.

“Being in prime shape to represent the country is his utmost priority. He will get back to red-ball training after the first match of DPL and start preparing for the long-format season starting with Duleep Trophy in the first week of Sept. DDCA and the Purani Delhi 6 management appreciates Rishabh’s gesture and also respects his commitments,” a source close to Pant told TOI.

Rishabh Pant, who returned to cricket after a car accident in December 2022, is preparing for international cricket and will be seen in the Duleep Trophy.
