Robert Lawson, an esteemed energy industry executive, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive and Secretary of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President at Mercuria Energy Group, where he spearheaded organizational changes and forged a vision for long-term growth. Lawson’s tenure as Global Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at BP witnessed a transaction portfolio exceeding $100 billion. This expertise positions him uniquely to navigate MCC’s strategic developments while preserving its cricketing essence.

Connection with Cricket and MCC’s Vision

Beyond corporate success, Lawson’s connection to cricket is deeply personal. His philanthropic involvement with the Alsama Project, a Lebanon-based refugee initiative supported by the MCC Foundation, reflects his understanding of cricket’s power to unite communities.
