Robin Uthappa likely to play for Kerala in upcoming Ranji season

Robin Uthappa likely to play for Kerala in upcoming Ranji season :-The flamboyant Kolkata Knight Riders opener has been in Superior form this IPL. He has scored 384 runs in 11 matches.

The 31 year old, Robin Uthappa is reportedly unhappy with the proceedings at the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) as he was dropped from the team in the Ranji Trophy Season last year.

Kerela Cricket Association (KCA) has shown interest in hiring Robin Uthappa to play for them in the coming domestic season.

“The KCA has opened talks with the Robin Uthappa. Both parties are interested. But we have to discuss the terms of the contract. If his terms are acceptable to us, Robin will play for Kerala this season” KCA official to Sportstarlive Magazine.

Playing for Karnataka, Robin Uthappa has scored 8,793 runs in First-Class cricket with 21 centuries and 48 half-centuries beside his name at an average of 41.28.

Robin Uthappa has been with the Karnataka side since 2002-03 season. He has been part of a victorious Karnataka Ranji side, winning 2 titles in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

Robin Uthappa”s captaincy in 2009-10, Karnataka reached the finals. Uthappa was also the team’s top-scorer with the bat in the 2014-15 season.

Uthappa & the KCA will again have a second round of discussion after the former finishes with the Indian Premier League 2017.

Despite scoring 328 runs for Karnataka last year, he was neglected by KSCA. Kerala played 3 outstation players last year (Bhavin Thakkar & Iqbal Abdullah of Mumbai, Jalaj Saxena of MP) therefore it is clear that they want the KKR Batsman to play for them.
