Karn further talked about how both being calm captains have so many similarities in them. as per him, both captains give freedom to their bowlers to set the field.

“Rohit and MS Dhoni are quite similar to captains. I think Rohit has learned a lot from MS since he has played for so many years under him. Both bring in calmness and give complete freedom to their bowlers for setting their own field.

Only if it doesn’t work out, they will come up with another plan,” Sharma said in a chat with sports presenter Yash Kashikar on his Instagram live show ‘Say Yash to Sports’.

Meanwhile, Karn Sharma had made his test debut under MS Dhoni in 2014 in Australia. The veteran leg-spinner explained in details how Dhoni is calm in intense situations. He also expressed his admiration for Dhoni’s ability to not let the pressure get to him in such situations.

“In fact, there is a lot to learn from Dhoni, whether you are a part of the XI or not. Most importantly, he remains cool and calm in crunch situations and doesn’t let the pressure mount on himself as well as the team,” said Sharma.

Karn Sharma has also played under Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, and Darren Sammy during his time with the Hyderabad franchise. He opened up on the importance of captain during crunch situations of the match. For him, Dhoni as a captain does not get affected by pressure and in fact, deals with all the challenges effectively.

“I feel a team is dependent a lot on its captain because if he is under pressure, then it creates some doubt in the side. But that isn’t the case when Dhoni is around. He takes on challenges and deals with tough situations,” he added.
