Indian captain Rohit Sharma made history by becoming the first player to hit 200 sixes in T20 internationals. He reached this corner during the T20 World Cup 2024 match against Australia on Monday at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.

This achievement further cements his outstanding record at the international level. With a wide cushion over Martin Guptill’s 173 as the next best, Rohit maintained his dominance at the top of the list for the most sixes by a player.

Additionally, the Indian opener in that same inning surpassed both David Warner (40) and Jos Buttler (43), becoming the second-highest six-hitter in T20 World Cup history.

Rohit Sharma fell to Mitchell Starc after his outstanding performance:

In the T20 World Cup, the pace spearhead from Australia clean-bowled Rohit Sharma, preventing him from scoring a century. After Starc smashed a ball through the blockhole on the second ball of the over, Rohit attempted a huge shot. The ball crashed into the stumps because the India opener was unable to make any contact with it.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, maundered against Australia and had his finest T20 World Cup innings to date. On Monday, June 24, while playing in St Lucia, Rohit pounded a magnific 41-ball, 92-run performance, which was his style in the T20 World Cup.

Hitman was knocked out by Mitchell Starc in the game’s 12th over, hardly missing his first-ever T20 World Cup century. Even though Virat Kohli was removed early in the game, India was able to dominate thanks to Sharma’s eight sixes and seven boundaries throughout his innings.

Highest score by an Indian in T20 World Cup 2024:
