Rohit Sharma, Gambhir, Agarkar Set To Meet BCCI Officials For BGT 2024-25 Review

India’s captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Gautam Gambhir, and chief selector Ajit Agarkar are set to meet with senior BCCI officials to review the team’s 1-3 loss to Australia in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar series.

The Men in Blue failed to retain the trophy and missed out on qualifying for the 2025 World Test Championship final after a turbulent series in Australia. As per a report by the Times of India, the meeting will take place at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai on the evening of January 11.

Key discussions will focus on the team’s performance, selection decisions, overall atmosphere, and future planning strategies.

“BCCI review meeting of India’s tour of Australia today in Mumbai at BCCI HQ in Mumbai at 5 pm. Captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Gautam Gambhir & chief selector Ajit Agarkar set to meet top BCCI officials,” the report read.

India took a 1-0 lead in the series with a 295-run victory in the first Test in Perth. However, a 10-wicket defeat in the pink ball Test at Adelaide Oval, along with losses in Melbourne and Sydney, allowed Australia to reclaim the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The tour was overshadowed by reports of internal unrest in the dressing room, as several players faced form struggles. Captain Rohit Sharma’s decision to skip the series finale fueled rumors about his future with the Test team.
