Rohit Sharma Gives A Perfect Reply When Asked To Pick A Best Shot From His Knock Against KKR

The East versus West encounter between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders was a high scoring affair. Dinesh Karthik after winning the toss put Mumbai to bat first at Abu Dhabi. An onslaught was expected as Mumbai’s openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock walked out to bat first for the second time in this tournament.

Meanwhile, de Kock lost his wicket very early on in the innings but it was Rohit Sharma who took the charge for Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma then went on to put up 80 crucial runs as he helped Mumbai Indians pose a score 195 runs on the board. In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders had a brisk start to the innings as they lost both their openers very cheaply in the power play.

The responsibility was on Andre Russell, Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik to guide KKR past the finishing line but Mumbai’s bowlers were a level above them today. Mumbai Indians won the match comprehensively all thanks to the contribution of key wickets by Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult and Rahul Chahar.

Rohit Sharma the winning captain and man of the match of today’s game was asked by Harsha Bhogle to pick his favourite six of the night at the post-match presentation, to which Rohit Replied by saying all his shots were good which is why he can’t pick any one particular shot.

“All my shots were good (laughs), can’t pick one. I haven’t played a lot of cricket in the last six months time and was looking to spend some time in the middle; it didn’t come out well in the first innings but glad to have done it tonight,” Rohit said. 

The Mumbai Indians skipper also spoke about the fact that since he hadn’t played much cricket in the last six months due to the pandemic which is why he wanted to spend more out in the middle before accelerating,

“I haven’t played a lot of cricket in the last six months time and was looking to spend some time in the middle; it didn’t come out well in the first innings but glad to have done it tonight,” he added during the post-match presentation.
