BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has spoken on the impact of Rohit Sharma’s injury on his body saying that the batsman is only 70 percent fit. Rohit’s fitness has been a constant subject of debate ever since he was dropped from the Australian squad. Ganguly has been delivering every possible update on Rohit’s injury status to the media. In the most recent one, the BCCI boss has said that he is just 70 percent fit and nowhere close to being fully fit to travel to Australia and play in the limited-overs series.
Sourav Ganguly spoke to The Week on the jumbo Indian squad that has reached Australia on Thursday, November 12. In the same reference, he spoke on Rohit’s injury as well.
“Why don’t you find out from Rohit himself? That is why he is still not picked for the ODIs and T20s down under. He has been added to the Test squad,” he said.

Earlier. Rohit was included in the Indian Test squad and not in the ODI and T20I squads. Then he was asked to return to India from the UAE and go under rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru before joining the India squad in Australia ahead of the first Test in Adelaide, starting December 17. Only if he clears a fitness test will he b allowed to travel to Australia for the Test series.

Previously Ganguly adviced Rohit to not rush with his comeback as he missed four games for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He made a return in their last league game amid rumours that he might play any more games for his side in the season.
Meanwhile, the Indian team has reached Australia and have started their quarantine period. The Indian team can also train during their quarantine period after the New South Wales Government provided their approval. They will be training at the Blacktown International Sports Park, which has also been turned into a bio-secure venue.
