Team India opener Rohit Sharma is one of the most destructive batsmen in world cricket right now. Not many bowlers can get the better of the swashbuckling hitter when he is on song. Meanwhile, the cricketer recently revealed the name of the Indian bowler, who has posed all sorts of trouble for him.

Rohit has been in spectacular form in recent times, especially in 2019. He struck five centuries in one ICC World Cup edition – the only batsman to achieve so. When Rohit Sharma gets going, it is almost impossible to put a brake on his carnage. However, the batsman himself has revealed the name of the toughest Indian bowler he has faced.

During a conversation with India cricketers Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana, Rohit got candid and spoke on many aspects of the game. During that conversation, the Mumbai cricketer labelled Mohammed Shami as the toughest bowler to face in the nets. Rohit also spoke about the competition between Jasprit Bumrah and Shami in the nets.

“The pitches we have for net sessions are almost always green with moisture. And whenever Shami sees a green pitch, he eats extra biryani! Bumrah is also difficult but he has been around only for two-three years. Shami, I have been playing since 2013. But yeah, right now there must be a competition going on between Bumrah and Shami, on who beats the bat most, who can hit the most on the helmets,” Rohit Sharma said.

Meanwhile, Rohit and Mohammed Shami share a great bond. They made their Test debut in the same match against West Indies in 2013. Since then, they have been part of memorable victories and have played a significant role in taking Indian cricket higher.

Both of them had a spectacular run in 2019 across the formats and will hope to continue their excellent form this year as well when cricket resumes.
