Rohit Sharma Shares Picture With His Wife Ritika Sajdeh

During their New Year celebrations in South Africa, Team India captain Rohit Sharma and his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, were captured in a heartwarming photo. Rohit is currently leading the Indian Test side in the two-match series.

India faced a disappointing defeat in the Boxing Day Test in Centurion last week, losing by an innings and 32 runs. Apart from Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Jasprit Bumrah, the team struggled in various aspects of the game.

Rohit Sharma had a challenging time with the bat, managing only 5 (14) and 0 (8) in the two innings as the opening batsman. He is keen on bouncing back and delivering a significantly improved performance in the upcoming second Test.

On Monday (January 1), Rohit shared a glimpse of his New Year celebrations on his official Instagram account. He posted a picture with his wife Ritika Sajdeh, captioning it:

“These type of performances happen”- Rohit Sharma comments on India’s poor performance in the first Test against South Africa

Rohit Sharma preferred not to think too much on the Centurion loss, stating that occasional setbacks are part of the game. He highlighted India’s consistent performances in overseas conditions in recent years, particularly in England and Australia, during the press conference after the first Test.

“Yes, we had a performance like this here. But, don’t forget, what we did in Australia and England. In Australia, we won the series, there our batters stepped up. In England, we drew a series, we shone with both bat and ball.”

He added: “These type of performances happen. It’s not that we don’t know how to bat outside India. At times, oppositions play better than us and win matches. I think that’s what happened here. It’s not like the opposition batted 110 overs, and we didn’t bat as many putting together both innings. In the last four tours outside India, go and see our records.”

The second Test between the two teams is scheduled to start on January 3 in Cape Town.
